Remember Jacob had a thing for those numbers, he hadthem popping up everywhere, he even assigned the candidates to a number,so the way I see it the Dharma probably kept seeing those numbers about and used it for the hatch. That’s the way I see it.

Thinking back to the ending I’m starting to think it was amazing, the flash sideways twist was amazing and the way they ended the characters story was flaweless, my only complaint was the fact they never explained what the Island actually is, how it can travel through time an what the Smoke Monster is, we know who it is but not what.

yeah i know i thought the ending was crap at first but then it actually does make sense. .

it was really annoying the way the island was never explained, the way walt use to appear wet and have phsychic powers and the way women couldnt conceive. they should of been explained.

To me it seemed the end left some questions, but essentially the island was purgatory.


The plain did crash and they all died.

Everyone of them were flawed in their own way and their time on their island was the time spent before they can graduate to heaven (afterlife).

Some of them were on the island longer and that represented the longer time it would take them to get themselves out of it.

they way i seen it was everything on the island was real and happened and the flash sideways timeline was purgatory. you see remember when jack remembered his "past life" his father said he was dead and there is no "now" meaning time doesnt exist in purgatory. . .so everyone had to wait there till the rest died so they could go into the light. . so if sawyer and kate lets say died 30years after jack. . it wouldnt of seemed like 30years to the people in purgatory. do you understand what i mean or am i confusing you? lol

I finally got to watch it last night. I think they left these unanswered questions out deliberately. I am guessing there's probably going to be some 'specials' to air in the next year or so, i.e mockumentory style.

harry, on the boxset of season 6 there is gona be an extra half hour of footage and maybe an alternative ending. did you interpret the ending the way i did or did you interpret it differently?
